Do you have a few moments to spare? Perhaps when travelling on a bus or train, waiting for a lecture or in a checkout queue?
The purpose of this app is to help you revise the Amino-acids. Down load it to your smart device and revise the Amino-acids in your spare moments.
There are four routes through the app:
1. Learn the features of the Amino-acids - including structures, classification, 3-letter abbreviation, single letter abbreviation with helpful mnemonic and dietary requirement.
2. 20 easy questions on the structures of the Amino acids
3. 20 questions on the single letter abbreviations
4. 20 challenging questions on the properties of the Amino-acids.
If you can get 20/20 on the single letter abbreviations then you will really know them well.
Pronunciation: Some of the names of the Amino-acids are rather long and complicated. To help you with pronunciation, a voice/spoken commentary has been added to the Learning section.
Please note that the content of this app is fairly detailed and a screen of at least 5" is recommended.
The naming and data for the amino-acids here has been taken from Wikipedia/amino-acid. In particular there is some inconsistency, even on Wikipedia, regarding whether an amino-acid is non-essential or conditionally essential. Please check that this information is consistent with your course.
